Your Pureform Watch
Made to move.
Thank you for choosing Pureform. This page has everything you need to set up your watch, size the bracelet and keep it looking its best.
Getting started
Your watch runs on an automatic movement. It needs no battery: it winds itself from the natural motion of your wrist.
- Give it a first windIf the watch has stopped, turn the crown clockwise (towards 12 o'clock) about 20–30 times. You'll see the seconds hand start to sweep.
- Wear it dailyNormal wear keeps it running. Taken off, it will keep going for about a day and a half before it stops. That's normal for an automatic watch.
- Set the time and dateFollow the steps below. Once set, you only need to adjust the date at the end of months with fewer than 31 days.
Good to know: mechanical watches can run a few seconds a day fast or slow. That's part of the craft, not a fault.
Setting the time, day & date
The crown has three positions. If your crown is screwed down, first unscrew it counter-clockwise until it pops out to position 0.
Wind the watch
Set day & date
Set the time
- Pull the crown to position 2Turn the hands forward until the date changes. That's midnight. Keep turning to the correct time, minding AM and PM.
- Push the crown back to position 1Turn the crown one way to change the date and the other way to change the day.
- Push the crown back to position 0If your crown screws down, press it in gently and screw it clockwise until it's snug. Never force it.
Important: don't change the day or date when the time reads between 9 PM and 3 AM. The date mechanism is already engaged then, and quick-setting it can damage the movement. Move the hands outside that window first.
Adjusting the bracelet
The right fit: snug enough that the watch doesn't slide over your wrist bone, loose enough to slip a finger underneath.
Small adjustment
Just a little too tight or loose? Use the micro-adjust holes in the clasp.
- Open the clasp and find the small holes on the side.
- Push the spring bar in with a pin or spring bar tool.
- Move it one hole up or down and let it click into place.
- Tug gently to check it's secure.
Removing links
For a bigger change, remove one or more links.
- Look on the inside of the bracelet: removable links are marked with small arrows.
- Push the pin out in the direction of the arrow with a pin pusher or thin tool. If the links have screws, use a small precision screwdriver instead.
- Remove links evenly from both sides of the clasp, so the watch stays centered on your wrist.
- Reconnect the bracelet and push the pin back in against the arrow.
Keep your spare links. Store them in the box in case you need them later. Prefer not to do it yourself? Any local jeweler or watch shop can size it in a few minutes.
Caring for your watch
A few simple habits keep it looking like the day it arrived.
- WaterCheck the water resistance on the caseback, and always make sure the crown is pushed in (and screwed down) before contact with water. Avoid hot showers and saunas.
- CleaningWipe the case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth. For the bracelet, a soft toothbrush with lukewarm water works well. Dry thoroughly.
- MagnetsKeep it away from strong magnets such as speakers, phone cases and laptop clasps. They can make it run fast.
- KnocksTake it off for heavy sports and gym sessions. Sharp impacts are the main enemy of a mechanical movement.
- StorageKeep it in its box when you're not wearing it, away from other jewelry to avoid scratches.
- Perfume & lotionPut it on last, after perfume, sunscreen or lotion have dried.
